Skip Broke was his father's son, through and through.
It had been that way ever since the summer before ninth grade, when Skip was fourteen. He'd finally convinced his mom to let him take the bus on his own, and was now making a habit of going into Belladonna Cove.
He was in Archimedes Arcade when he saw three guys stealing a cellphone. It was a sleek, brand new smartphone, the exact model Skip wanted. He would never have enough money to buy it though, so instead he followed the thieves outside.
"Can you teach me how to do that?"
