The two men glared at each other. It was hard to believe they'd once been friends, before Contessa came between them.
In Veronaville, that sort of thing was taken very seriously. Their families had been feuding ever since, allowing the violence to escalate until That Day. The day their fighting led to the murder of Cordelia, Caliban, Claudio, Olivia, and Hero.
The government had stepped in, and sent the murderers to jail. Those left behind were given much to think about.
Consort and Patrizio still hated each other. But they never wanted it to come to that again.
